After much speculation and fanfare Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 3 has been officially announced and we now know November 8th will be its official cross platform release date. Retailers such as Amazon have started accepting pre-orders already and have even fired out emails to consumers who have purchased or shown interest in the franchise before.
It read “Modern Warfare is back. On November 8, the best-selling first-person action series of all-time returns with the epic sequel to the multiple Game of the Year award winner Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.” The Amazon site lists the PS3 and Xbox 360 version at £42.91 with free delivery, PC gamers can pre-order the game for just £34.91.
Modern Warfare 3 sees the return of Infinity Ward as developers, a fact that many gamers will be happy with, especially those who suffered glitches with Black Ops when it first released last November. The game follows a similar theme to the second game providing in action in England, America, Germany , Russia and France with some rumours even pointing towards missions in the Middle East.
The game will launch three days before the fabled black Friday, a day when more merchandise is sold online than any other day of the year. This is smart thinking from Activision who will undoubtedly cash in on the silly season that is Christmas.
Will you be pre-ordering Modern Warfare 3, if so which platform will you opt for?
